I used to work in the EC post office that used to be next door to the viaduct tavern but now is the bank of America and I spent quite a few trips to the pub as did many of the postman, we left there to move to mount Pleasant post office.

I'm from Canada and we decorate our house up every Christmas both inside and out. My whole road does. People come from all over to see the lights and take pictures. It takes me about three days to decorate the outside. The worst part is taking it all down because by that time we are in the dead of winter and it is freezing cold.

Going back to the late 90’s I was on a course around Scotland Yard, we were invited to the tower, our guide was Yeoman Warder Dave Chenier, when we got there he asked if we wanted to do the tour, or be invited into the Yeoman Warders pub. No contest really! We hade a very pleasant time there being witnessing the Ceremony of the Keys. Chatting to Dave to turned out that years before as a young g soldier he had been arrested by my son in laws Dad, who was a Miltary Policeman, not sure of the offence.

I find the cemeteries a kind of melancholic and a bit creepy, but at the same time very interesting and they're places where you can learn a lot about the past, sometimes a very sad and violent past of some of the long-time residents of these places; but lately I find myself going to the cemeteries and walking along the graves and learning who those people were and the time they died; some of the graves are very old that make them even more interesting.

Great tour! I would love to come and visit but now that I am finally retired I'm not sure I could make all those stairs! I was relieved to see the torture equipment treated as museum pieces instead of a the carnival side show I was once led to believe they were. You are fortunate to have such access to one of the few places in the world I would love to see, thank you again!
